Rostekhnadzor recorded violations of industrial safety at "Nizhnekamskneftekhim." As a result of the explosion at the plant, 12 people died.

      PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" is part of SIBUR. During previously conducted inspections, employees of Rostekhnadzor identified violations of industrial safety requirements at PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim." This was reported to "Business Online" by the press service of the Volga Department of Rostekhnadzor. According to the agency, from April 2025 to April 2026, 26 inspections were conducted at the enterprise, the last of which took place in December of last year. The Volga Department of Rostekhnadzor clarified that three inspections were conducted regarding the hazardous production facility "Building I-5/1 for the production of synthetic rubbers SKD-N (polymerization) of the Synthetic Rubber Plant" from April 2025 to April 2026. "During the control, violations of industrial safety requirements were identified, for which orders were issued specifying deadlines for compliance of no more than six months," writes "Business Online." The agency added that "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" is "eliminating violations and providing reports, the accuracy of which is verified as they are received." However, the press service of Rostekhnadzor did not specify what kind of inspections were conducted (scheduled, unscheduled, on-site) and what violations are being referred to.

      Recall that an explosion at "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" occurred on March 31. The company stated that the cause was the ignition of a gas mixture while working to eliminate the consequences of equipment depressurization. Twelve people died, and the search operation was completed only on April 7. The head of the Nizhnekamsk district of Tatarstan, Radmir Belyaev, reported yesterday that 21 victims remain in hospitals in Nizhnekamsk, Kazan, and Moscow. PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" is part of SIBUR. The company's website states that the enterprise is one of the largest producers of synthetic rubbers in the world and a key enterprise of the Volga cluster of the holding.
