World Book Day 2026 was celebrated at the Zainsk Library.
As part of World Book and Copyright Day, an educational event about the history of books and reading was held for young participants of the "Movement of the First." On April 23, a literary hour titled "All About Books" took place at the library, dedicated to World Book Day. The participants were children from the pilot group of the "Movement of the First," who, together with the librarian, embarked on an exciting journey through the history of writing. The kids learned how humanity progressed from cave paintings to modern printed editions. They were informed about ancient information carriers—clay tablets, papyrus, parchment, and birch bark. A special interest was sparked by the discussion of what books are like today and why they remain an important part of every person's life. An additional feature of the event was a book exhibition set up in the reading room. The exhibition showcased works by domestic and foreign authors from various genres: classic literature, fairy tales, and adventures. The organizers note that such meetings help to foster children's interest in reading, develop literacy, and broaden their horizons. World Book Day remains an important reminder of the significance of literature in the modern world and its role in educating the younger generation.
