As established by the security forces, the suspect purchased devices disguised as GSM trackers with a hidden audio recording function via the internet. In addition, he bought a desk clock capable of conducting covert audio and video recording. The man also modified a network filter to use it for covert audio recording. After that, he posted advertisements for the sale of the devices on one of the popular free classifieds websites. The detention took place as part of a test purchase. During searches at the man's home in Almetyevsk, 14 special means adapted for covert obtaining of information were seized. The seized devices were attached to the materials of the criminal case. The Investigative Committee initiated a case under the article on illegal trafficking of special technical means. It should be noted that the punishment under this article provides for imprisonment for up to four years.
