For Ivan Turgenev, the warning is on the collection containing the works "Asya" and "Fathers and Sons." For Anton Chekhov, the labeling has been added to the book "Chekhov Lives," which includes selected novellas and stories. For Nikolai Gogol, the label appeared in the edition "The Night Before Christmas" from the cycle "Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka." The press service of "Litres" reported that the service is studying the situation and checking for any errors in the content labeling, and that this will take time. Earlier, on April 1, representatives of the publishing industry noted difficulties in implementing new requirements. According to Boris Kuznetsov, the CEO of the "Rosmen" publishing house, the clarifications from the Ministry of Digital Development did not provide clear criteria for age labeling. As a result, some publishers began to label all books mentioning drugs with the "18+" sign and also to calculate VAT at the rate of 22% instead of the preferential 10%.

      A source in one of the large publishing houses confirmed that such an approach is used to reduce legal risks. On April 21, it was also reported that the biographies of Mikhail Bulgakov and Vladimir Vysotsky could fall under similar labeling. The book about Bulgakov is part of the series "The Lives of Remarkable People." Since March 1, amendments have been in effect in Russia introducing liability for the distribution of works mentioning drugs. The list prepared by the Russian Book Union includes not only contemporary authors but also translations of classical literature published after August 1, 1990, including the works of Jean-Paul Sartre.
