In Tatarstan, 14 cases of illegal apartment renovations have been identified.
The Housing Inspection of the Republic of Tatarstan identified 14 violations related to illegal apartment renovations in Nizhnekamsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Kazan, and Almetyevsk over the past two weeks. During this period, housing inspectors held 14 owners administratively responsible for unauthorized renovations. Violations were recorded in several cities of the republic, including Nizhnekamsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Kazan, and Almetyevsk. The most cases were found in Nizhnekamsk — 7. In Naberezhnye Chelny and Kazan, 3 violations were recorded each, and one in Almetyevsk. According to housing supervision data, owners conducted renovations without approval, affecting load-bearing structures, engineering networks, and the functional purpose of the premises. For instance, in Almetyevsk, at house No. 65 on Radishcheva Street, the owner completely changed the apartment layout: load-bearing walls were demolished, partitions were moved, and a new floor screed was made. In Naberezhnye Chelny, cases of partial dismantling of doorways (house No. 40 on M. Jalil Avenue), balcony extensions (house No. 84 on Sh. Usmanov Street), as well as combining the kitchen with the room and altering the bathroom were identified. In Nizhnekamsk, at house No. 14 on Tikhaya Alley, the replacement of a gas stove with an electric one was recorded without approval, and at house No. 32 on Builders Avenue — the dismantling of a balcony block. In Kazan, violations were found in houses No. 21 on Vostaniya Street and No. 43A on Dubravnaya Street, where residents changed the configuration of the premises, installed additional plumbing zones, and moved heating devices to the balcony. Specialists remind that the right to inviolability of the home, enshrined in legislation, does not exempt owners from complying with building codes. Any changes affecting load-bearing structures, engineering communications, or "wet zones" are subject to mandatory approval. Illegal renovations can pose a serious threat to safety: from compromising the building's strength to the risk of flooding, fires, and heating system failures. For example, the dismantling of load-bearing walls can affect the stability of the entire building, while moving radiators to the balcony can lead to a deterioration of the microclimate and damage to structures. All violators have been held administratively responsible. Materials have been sent to the executive committees of municipalities, and owners have been issued orders to restore the premises to their original condition.
