KIU at the Republican round table on local history
On April 24, 2026, a Republican round table on the exchange of advanced pedagogical experience was held at the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov on the topic: "Information and communication technologies and pedagogical technologies in local history activities as a basis for the development of cognitive and creative abilities of students." The event was organized by the private educational institution "Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov (IEUP)" and the Municipal Budgetary Institution of Additional Education "House of Children's and Youth Tourism and Excursions 'Prostor'" of the Novo-Savinovsky district of Kazan. Educators of additional education, methodologists, heads of departments, leaders of school museums, and other specialists interested in the development of local history in the Republic of Tatarstan participated in the round table, as well as students from educational groups 1951 and 1952 in the field of "Tourism" at the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov. The main goal of the event was to summarize and disseminate the successful experience of educators using modern ICT and pedagogical technologies in local history activities for students. The participants were greeted by Igor Alekseevich Guryanov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Design for Research at the Kazan Innovative University, Candidate of Economic Sciences, and Rafail Mannapovich Fazliev, Director of the Municipal Budgetary Institution of Additional Education "Prostor." The round table began with a report by Natalia Vladimirovna Utkin, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Tourism Department, and Deputy Head of the Center for Supporting Project Activities of Students at the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov. In her presentation "The University as a Project Accelerator for Local History Initiatives," Natalia Vladimirovna presented a model of systematic work with student projects implemented at the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov since September 2024, and also discussed the results of organizing project activities for students in the fields of "Service" and "Tourism" during this period. She emphasized that the implementation of this model allowed shifting the focus from theoretical training to practice-oriented training, where future specialists in the field of tourism and hospitality cease to be passive recipients of local history knowledge and become subjects of knowledge about their native land – initiators, researchers, and authors of practical solutions. The participants of the round table were also keenly interested in the presentations by practitioners from the municipal districts of the republic: - A.S. Latypov (Aznakayevo) – on sustainable practices for preserving historical memory; - A.F. Rakhimov (Leninogorsk) – on digital archives as a tool for preserving local history; - S.V. Fedyanina (Leninogorsk) – on quest games in civic-patriotic education of schoolchildren; - E.A. Karimova (Aznakayevo) – on modern digital tools in the work of school museums; - M.V. Cherepanov (Kazan) – on the methodology of teaching children to compile family chronicles. The program concluded with a report by A.M. Zakirov (Lyceum-Boarding School No. 7, educator at the "Prostor" Children's and Youth Tourism and Excursions Center) on the use of the creative heritage of cultural and artistic figures of the Republic of Tatarstan in educational practice. Summarizing the round table, Ildar Sarvarovich Kabirov, Head of the Tourism Department at the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov, proposed to hold similar events on a regular basis. His initiative was actively supported by the participants: "We thank the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov for the cooperation and will be glad to participate in joint events to promote local history and tourism among children and youth," noted Ruzida Gabdulmalikovna Karimova, Head of the Local History Department at the Municipal Budgetary Institution of Additional Education "Prostor."
The round table "Information and Communication Technologies and Pedagogical Technologies in Local History Activities as a Basis for the Development of Cognitive and Creative Abilities of Students" became a platform for constructive dialogue between representatives of higher education, educational development institutions, the pedagogical community, and public organizations. Participants noted the high level of the presented practices and agreed on further cooperation within the framework of network interaction "school – university – additional education institution."
