This year, MTS continues its work to provide communication and high-speed internet to the population and businesses in the region. The total investments in the development of mobile communication in Tatarstan in 2026 amount to 1.1 billion rubles," emphasized MTS General Director Inessa Galaktionova. In addition to developing mobile communication networks under the national program "Elimination of Digital Inequality," in 2025 and 2026, the company launched about 30 new base stations to cover regional and federal highways in the republic. Also, by shutting down the outdated 3G standard (refarming), the company expanded LTE coverage in Naberezhnye Chelny, Aznakayevo, Bugulma, and Leninogorsk. In 6 cities of Tatarstan, the operator deployed a Wi-Fi access network at 26 locations, where subscribers of any operator can use free Wi-Fi. MTS General Director Inessa Galaktionova reported that as part of the import substitution efforts, the company has installed the largest number of domestically produced base stations among Russian regions in Tatarstan. Currently, 72 IRTEYA base stations are operational on the MTS network in the republic. The domestic communication platform MTS Link, using artificial intelligence, is used for video conferencing and online training by major universities in the republic — KFU, KSMU, KAI, Innopolis University, and others. Together with the business community and government agencies, the company is implementing large-scale projects to digitize the Tatarstan economy. Among them are solutions for automating processes in the agro-industrial complex, equipping passenger transport enterprises with a conductor-free payment system, video surveillance, and passenger flow counting, as well as creating infrastructure for private pLTE/5G networks for the needs of industrial sector enterprises. In addition to developing communication infrastructure, MTS, together with the republic, is implementing projects aimed at enhancing the safety of residents. In Kazan, thanks to the pilot project "Smart Pedestrian Crossing," the number of accidents at one of the uncontrolled crossings has significantly decreased. Together with the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Tatarstan, a system for automatic flood monitoring in high-risk flood zones was tested. "The safety of people is our top priority. Joint projects with MTS confirm this: for example, the accident rate at pedestrian crossings decreases significantly, and the flood monitoring system operates automatically. We will continue to implement such solutions — where they truly protect the lives and health of the people of Tatarstan," said the Minister of Digital Development of Tatarstan Ilya Nachvin.
