      The commander of the reactive artillery division of the 126th separate guards coastal defense brigade was killed while performing a combat mission in March 2022. The initiator of the mural was State Duma deputy Ilya Wolfson. Mikhail was an officer of the Black Sea Fleet, who died while performing a combat mission at the beginning of the special operation. He served as the commander of the reactive artillery division of the 126th separate guards coastal defense brigade. In March 2022, when part of the Russian fighters was cut off and surrounded, Mikhail Yermolin broke through to his own on an unarmored "Ural" under continuous shelling. He saved 35 servicemen, evacuated the wounded, and transported ammunition. The next day, he was killed while saving other comrades. For his feat, Mikhail Yermolin was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. On March 2, the anniversary of his death, at the initiative of "United Russia," "Young Guard," and the deputy corps, a Hero's Desk was opened at the gymnasium. The family of the fallen officer was present – his mother and sister, Alina and Elena Yermolina. "As part of the party project 'New School,' a major renovation was carried out in this school last year. We came to inspect how the work was progressing. It was decided to open a Hero's Desk. In February, we opened it with his mother, sister, and the kids. It was jointly decided to create a mural because our hero, Mikhail Anatolyevich, lived near this house. He walked to school every day along this road. And we all agreed that it would be great if a portrait of our hero appeared on the end of this school. We set ourselves the task of unveiling this mural by May 9," said Ilya Wolfson. At that time, together with Mikhail's relatives and the school administration, they chose and approved the sketch. Today, Ilya Wolfson, deputy head of the "United Russia" faction in the State Council of Tatarstan, Deputy Secretary of the Tatarstan regional branch of the "United Russia" party Olga Voronova, and the hero's sister Elena Yermolina came to the gymnasium to accept the work. "In Tatarstan, 23 federal projects of 'United Russia' are being implemented. They all have different focuses. One of the important projects is 'New School.' Because within this project, significant commemorative events are being held. Currently, 25 murals have already been opened in the republic. Today we are looking at another one dedicated to the Hero of the special military operation, who, by his example and courage, showed what patriotism is, that one must love their homeland. Mikhail studied at this school. And now his feat will be known not only to the gymnasium students but also to the residents of this area and city. We must honor the memory of our heroes. Our young generation should look up to them. And most importantly, we must instill patriotism in our schoolchildren. We must teach them to love our great homeland," emphasized Olga Voronova. The mural on the facade of the gymnasium was entrusted to artist Nikita Markin, who is already known in Kazan and Tatarstan for his monumental works. "I have been working on facade designs for about 16 years. I consider it an honor to create images in memory of the Heroes of the Special Military Operation. After all, the current political situation affects the whole country, all of us. I think every family has acquaintances and friends who are directly connected to the special military operation. Therefore, we fulfill our duty in the way we know how," shared graffiti artist Nikita Markin. Participants of the party expedition arrived when the artist was applying the finishing touches. "I want to sincerely thank the artist: he put not only his skill but also his soul into this painting. Both Mikhail's sister and the school principal highly appreciated the result — the portrait turned out to be sincere and bright. I believe it is important to preserve the memory of the guys, heroes, who paid the highest price, gave their lives for our sky, peace, for the opportunity to live, study, go to school, and receive an education for the younger generation. This is the same example as a young guy who studied with them in the same school at the same desk and died a true hero," noted Ilya Wolfson. The official opening of the mural will take place on May 8 at a solemn line dedicated to Victory Day.
