More than 150 families will be selected to participate in the tourism festival "More Than a Journey" in Mordovia.
The All-Russian Family Tourism Festival "More than a Journey" will take place from July 9 to 12 in the Republic of Mordovia. It will be organized in the format of a three-day camping camp, reports the press service of the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan. As a result of the competitive selection, more than 150 families from different regions of Russia will be able to participate in the event organized by the Rosmolodezh program "More than a Journey." The program is being implemented as part of the national project "Youth and Children." At the same time, the festival will remain open to other families: they will be able to come with accommodation outside the competitive program or visit the site on the open festival day. The program includes master classes on hiking tourism, meetings with travelers and mentors, lectures, and educational formats of the Academy "More than a Journey." Participants can expect media marathons, family sports activities, campfire evenings, guitar songs, folk crafts fairs, quests, and concerts. The festival is conceived as a journey through Russia in miniature: the site will feature spaces reflecting different regions of the country, their history, nature, and culture. This format will allow participants to better understand the diversity of the country and feel part of a common space. The festival area will have thematic zones. Among them are the "Place of Journeys" with short family hikes and trip organization practices, the "Place of Knowledge" with lectures, meetings with famous travelers, and interactive formats, as well as the "Place of Creativity" with media marathons and an art program. Participants will include young and large families with children, family dynasties, and lovers of travel across Russia. The General Director of the program "More than a Journey," Olesya Teterina, reported that about 500 people will be winners of the competitive selection. According to her, more than a thousand participants will be able to join the festival in the format of free accommodation from July 9 to 12, and about 3,500 people will visit the event on July 11 as part of the festival day. She also noted that the program will be rich and will include master classes, meetings, and educational formats that will help participants look at the cultural and natural diversity of the country in a new way and feel a sense of belonging and pride. Over three days, participants will go on radial hikes in family teams, where they can practice tourist skills and role distribution. Practical classes and master classes on organizing hikes are planned, as well as meetings with famous travelers. In addition, festival guests will be able to visit educational, cultural, and active sites. Elements of gamification will make participation in the event resemble a journey, allowing participants to rediscover the country and better understand its features. The festival is positioned as a space for communication, joint recreation, and educational leisure, where the values of family, generational continuity, and interest in travel across Russia are supported. To participate in the competitive selection, it is necessary to submit an application on the project website. The team must include at least three people and represent at least two generations of the family.
When submitting an application, participants will need to complete several tasks: publish a post on "VKontakte" with hashtags #FamilyAtTheFestival, #MoreThanAJourney, and #MoreThanAFamily, sharing their expectations for participation, prepare a video introduction lasting up to one and a half minutes explaining why the family should attend the festival, develop a presentation of a safe and interesting tourist route in their region, and register each team member. The application deadline is until May 20, 2026. The co-organizers of the festival are the State Committee for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Mordovia, the ANO "Year-Round Youth Educational Center 'Family Academy 'Together'" and Rosmolodezh. Detailed participation conditions are posted on the project website.
