       In the Republic of Tatarstan, from April 25 to June 5 inclusive, the annual environmental operation "Spawning" will be in effect, during which restrictions on the catch of aquatic biological resources will be introduced in all water bodies of the region.

       This decision was announced and approved during a meeting of the Republican Council on the preservation of aquatic bioresources, held under the auspices of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, the newspaper "Respublika Tatarstan" clarifies. According to the rules established for this period, a complete ban on any industrial fishing is introduced in the republic to ensure unobstructed spawning of valuable fish species. As for amateur fishermen, certain concessions are made for them – citizens will be allowed to fish exclusively from the shore, with only one fishing gear allowed, namely a float or bottom rod. The use of spinning rods, feeders with multiple hooks, and especially any net fishing gear is strictly prohibited. According to the source, in the first quarter of the current year, state inspectors of fish protection have recorded 221 administrative offenses in the field of fishing, and 7 criminal cases have been initiated for the most egregious violations. During raid activities, 1453 prohibited fishing gear were extracted and confiscated from the water, which exceeds the similar figure for the first quarter of 2025 by 638 units. Ramil Sharafutdinov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Tatarstan for Biological Resources, emphasized in his speech that the fight against poaching is only part of a systematic effort aimed at preserving and increasing the fish population in the region. It was previously reported that Tatarstan has defined the rules for introducing a state of emergency regarding stray animals.
