A fine of up to 15,000 rubles is imposed for grilling shashliks outside of picnic areas.
Grilling shashliks outside specially equipped picnic areas can result in a fine of up to 15,000 rubles. This was reported by Natalia Vedyshova, an associate professor at the Department of Environmental and Natural Resource Law at O. E. Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MGYUA), as quoted by "RIA Novosti." She explained that for violating fire safety requirements, citizens face fines ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 rubles. If shashliks are prepared during a special fire safety regime imposed by regional authorities, the fine increases to between 10,000 and 20,000 rubles. The lawyer added that if a fire occurs while preparing shashliks and people are harmed or someone else's property is damaged, the administrative fine can rise to 40,000-50,000 rubles. Vedyshova also reminded that making a fire and using barbecues is only allowed in specially designated picnic areas. Such places must be equipped with fireproof barbecues, sandboxes, and trash bins.
