In Tatarstan, new legislative measures aimed at supporting various categories of citizens came into effect in May. This was reported by the republic's prosecutor's office. One of the innovations concerns large families: now child benefits are retained even if the average per capita income increases, but not by more than 10% of the minimum wage. At the same time, it is not necessary to reapply for the extension of payments. Support measures for the families of participants in the special military operation (SMO) have also been expanded. Spouses of deceased soldiers have received the right to enroll in universities for budget-funded places under a quota, provided they have not entered into a new marriage. This provision applies to bachelor's and specialist programs. Furthermore, relatives of injured or seriously ill National Guard employees will be able to travel to their place of treatment for free. Compensation is provided for two family members or close relatives. Separate changes have affected the disabled and veterans: now debts for prosthetics, the maintenance of guide dogs, and travel expenses for obtaining them will not be collected if such expenses were incurred before January 1, 2025.
