Starting from June 1, applications for the family tax benefit are being accepted in Tatarstan.

      The application period will last until October 1, 2026, inclusive, and the income will be considered for the year 2025. The main condition is that the average per capita income of the family must not exceed 22,609.5 rubles per person (1.5 regional subsistence minimum).

      Who is entitled to the payment

      This support measure is intended for working parents, adoptive parents, guardians, and custodians in families raising: two or more children under 18 years old; or up to 23 years old if the child is studying full-time. Important conditions: all family members must be citizens of the Russian Federation; no outstanding child support debts; the applicant must be officially employed (self-employed individuals without other income do not qualify); the parent must not be deprived of parental rights.

      How income is calculated

      The average per capita income of the family is calculated from salaries, business income, pensions, benefits, scholarships, and alimony. An example from Tatarstan: A family of four, where only the father works with a salary of 64,000 ₽ per month. Average per capita income = 64,000 ÷ 4 = 16,000 ₽. This is below the threshold of 22,609.5 ₽ → entitlement to payment exists. Only the father can apply for it. The maximum annual income for a family of four in the republic is 1,085,256 ₽.

      How the payment itself is calculated

      The family tax payment is a refund of the difference between the actual income tax paid and the tax at a rate of 6%. That is, you will receive a refund of part of the income tax paid in 2025. The amount depends on taxable income and tax deductions.

      Three ways to apply

      Applications are accepted from June 1 to October 1, 2026:

      The "Gosuslugi" portal (the most popular method);

      Any MFC (by appointment);

      Client offices of the Social Fund of Russia. Most of the data will be requested by specialists through interdepartmental channels. However, certificates from educational institutions (if the child is over 18 and studying full-time) will need to be brought in person.

      Important reminder

      The right to the payment must be confirmed annually. If you applied for it in 2026, you will need to submit a new application with current income in 2027.
