The European Union has imposed sanctions against "Bashneft" and the CEO of the special economic zone "Alabuga," Timur Shagivaleev.
Sanctions have been imposed on 33 individuals and 83 legal entities. The European Commission has published the contents of the 20th package of sanctions against Russia for the war it has unleashed against Ukraine. Sanctions have been imposed on 33 individuals and 83 legal entities: this leads to the freezing of their assets in EU countries and a ban on providing them with funds and economic resources, and in the case of individuals, also a travel ban. The sanctions list includes 36 companies from the Russian energy sector, involved in both oil exploration and processing. In particular, restrictions have been imposed against the Bashkortostan companies "Bashneft" and "Slavneft" (as well as its subsidiaries "Krasnoyarskneftegaz" and "Megionneftegaz"). Another Bashkortostan enterprise, the Sterlitamak SKB "Stankostroenie," has also been included in the sanctions list. Sanctions have been imposed against 12 Russian oil refineries: Achinsk, Komsomolsk, Ryazan, Syzran, Tuapse refineries, and the Angarsk NHC of "Rosneft"; Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, and Ukhta refineries of "Permnefteorgsintez" of "LUKOIL"; Afipsky refinery of "FortInvest"; "Yaroslavnefteorgsintez" (YANOS) of "Slavneft." Also under restrictions are "Gazpromneft Marine Bunker," "Rosnefteflot," and "LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft." The sanctions lists of the EU include the chief designer of the "Kalashnikov" concern, Vladimir Lepin, and the general director of the special economic zone "Alabuga," where drones of the "Shahed" type are produced, Timur Shagivaleev. In addition, sanctions have been imposed against Igor Nasenkov, a native of Naberezhnye Chelny, the general director of OJSC "Technodynamics" — a Russian company engaged in the production of weapons, ammunition, chemical and aviation products, including for the Armed Forces of Russia. "The Commission welcomes the adoption of the 20th package of sanctions: the EU's commitment to the freedom and sovereignty of Ukraine is unwavering. This package exerts additional pressure on Russia to encourage it to engage in negotiations on terms acceptable to Ukraine," the European Commission's press release states.
