The National Museum of Tatarstan has prepared a special program for the May holidays.
During the May holidays, the National Museum of Tatarstan and its branches have prepared a special program. From May 1 to May 10, a special lecture series will take place at the museum featuring invited specialists. These include Daria Tolovenkova, the deputy chief architect of Kazan, Doctor of Biological Sciences Nafisa Mingazova, and Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Hamza Sharipov. The quest "Roads of Victory" will take place on May 7 and 8, where participants will learn about the history of Kazan during the Great Patriotic War, immerse themselves in the atmosphere of wartime years, and see authentic exhibits. The quest will conclude with a master class on making a candle from beeswax as a symbol of memory and peace. On May 8, the National Museum, together with its branch, the Museum-Memorial of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945, will hold a joint program for Victory Day titled "9 Steps to Victory." In the courtyard of the National Museum, guests will find nine points with various activities: touching scenes from wartime life, readings of authentic front-line letters, interactive sites and master classes, a concert of wartime songs, and a communal Victory waltz. At the Museum-Memorial of the Great Patriotic War, a series of events titled "This Day We Approached as Best We Could" will take place on May 9. At the Gorky and Shalyapin Museum, a program dedicated to Victory Day will be held on May 10. At the apartment museum of Musa Jalil, a lecture titled "Both Memory and Feat, and Pain for Centuries..." will be read on May 5 and 6, dedicated to the feat of the Tatar hero-poet. At the Lenin House Museum, on May 9, visitors can attend a "director's tour" with the head of the house-museum, the famous Kazan local historian Mark Shishkin. On May 11, a concert of Russian music will take place at the Salikh Saydashev Museum and the Museum of Tatar Music. The program includes works of Russian academic classics performed by students of the Secondary Special Music School at the Kazan Conservatory. On May 6, a cultural and educational event titled "First Wednesdays at the Tatar Book House" will take place. The theme of the event is women's voices in Tatar literature. The program includes a discussion with female writers, a lecture, master classes, and a chamber concert. Later, on May 8, a walking tour titled "Literary Rear" will be held about the literary life of Kazan during the Great Patriotic War, along with an open reading of the correspondence between Sharif Kamal and his son Yusuf Baigildeev titled "Yusuf Letters." On May 9, visitors can delve into the history of printing and create a poster mock-up with authentic typographic letters in the master class "Font Game."
At the museum-educational center "History of Justice," from May 8 to May 10, excursions titled "...and My Axe" will be held, showcasing a collection of cold weapons from the National Museum of Tatarstan, "Protection of the Sovereignty of the Russian State. History and Modernity" about the threats faced by the Russian state throughout its history, and "History of Russian Justice" about key concepts of "justice" and "legality," as well as the history of justice bodies in Russia and Tatarstan. Events and exhibitions for Victory Day will also take place from May 1 to May 9 at the Gorky Museum in the village of Krasnovidovo.
