The State Duma proposed to limit admission to master's programs not related to the field of study.
A bill has been submitted to the State Duma that proposes to establish requirements in federal state educational standards for the alignment of the master's program profile with previously obtained higher education. The document is available in the electronic database of the parliament. The initiative was authored by a group of deputies led by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, Sergey Kabyshev. Amendments are proposed to be made to the law "On Education." According to the developers, it is common for bachelor's graduates to enroll in master's programs that are completely unrelated to their field of study. As a result, students do not acquire the necessary knowledge and competencies stipulated by the standard. The authors of the bill insist that quality education is only possible with professional continuity between the levels of bachelor's, specialist, and master's degrees. Photo: magnific.com
