Mendeleev pensioners held the event "Steps of Victory" dedicated to Victory Day.

      Today, May 6, 2026, the local branch of the Pensioners' Union in the Mendeleevsky district held a Nordic walking event "Steps of Victory," dedicated to the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The event was conducted under the guidance of Irina Elizarova, a lecturer at the Health and Lifestyle Faculty of the University for Seniors. Participants were also accompanied throughout the route by Olga Smolkova, a lecturer at the "History of the Native Land" faculty. The participants walked the route from the Sports Alley, along the Alley of Glory and Heroes to the Square of the Eternal Flame. During the walk, Olga Smolkova detailed the history of these alleys, each monument, and our Heroes. The event concluded with a minute of silence at the Eternal Flame. Participants laid flowers at the monument to the Unknown Soldier.

      Everyone present was very interested in immersing themselves in the heroic history of our city.
