More than one and a half thousand participants from over two hundred eighty families of the Volga region will gather in Ufa to compete for a place in the finals. The winners will receive certificates worth five million rubles each for improving their living conditions and family trips.
From May 11 to 14, the final district semi-final of the competition "This is a Family Matter" will take place in Ufa. More than one thousand five hundred people from over two hundred eighty families of the Volga Federal District will participate. This is the most massive project of the presidential platform "Russia – a Country of Opportunities." Participants will undergo a series of intellectual, creative, and sports challenges united by the theme "Being a Family." The winners will represent their region in July 2026 at the finals of the competition in Moscow and compete for the main prizes. Among them are sixty certificates worth five million rubles for improving living conditions for the winners and family trips for the finalists. On the site, evaluation tasks will be performed simultaneously by family teams from three generations. They represent all fourteen regions of the Volga Federal District. These are the republics of Bashkortostan, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Chuvashia, as well as Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Penza, Samara, Saratov, Ulyanovsk regions, and Perm Krai.
On May 11, there will be an opening ceremony. On May 12 and 13, families will undergo intellectual, sports, and creative challenges. They will need to demonstrate their erudition, resourcefulness, and ability to work as a team. Some tasks will be related to the cultural code of Russia — the key theme of this season. The competition day will begin with an intellectual quiz from the Russian Society "Knowledge."
On May 14, participants will meet with science fiction writer and member of the Supervisory Board of the competition "This is a Family Matter," Sergey Lukyanenko. Then there will be a ceremony to announce the results, during which the names of the winning families of the semi-final will be revealed.
Earlier, semi-finals were held for families from other federal districts. In July, all finalists will have a trip to Moscow, and based on the results of the finals — a family trip. The names of the winners will be announced on July 8, 2026, on Family, Love, and Fidelity Day. A total of 726,191 people from 196,576 families participated in the application campaign for the second season. Of these, 140,192 people are 39,154 family teams from the Volga Federal District. The competition "This is a Family Matter" is part of the national project "Family."
