From China with love: KIU students in an educational program in the PRC

      Students of the Law Faculty of KIU participated in a ten-day educational program "Technologies of Outbound Tourism" in the territory of the People's Republic of China. Our faculty was represented by undergraduate students Victoria Fokina and Svetlana Stepova, as well as master's student Emilia Ibatullina.

      At the beginning of their journey, our students visited the city of Vladivostok, where they were able to personally appreciate the beauty and magnificence of one of the regions of the Far East and see attractions such as the Tokarevsky Lighthouse, the Ship Embankment, Russky Island, and others. The lecture "Tourist Resources of Primorsky Krai," which took place at Vladivostok State University, significantly broadened the students' horizons.

      However, the goal of participating in the program was to visit the border city located in Jilin Province – Hunchun. It borders Russia to the southeast, North Korea to the southwest, and Heilongjiang Province to the north. On the way, the students also managed to visit the neighboring cities of Tumen, Yanji, Dunhua, and Longjing.

      We asked Emilia Ibatullina, a master's student of the Law Faculty of KIU, to share her impressions of the program: "I express my sincere gratitude to my home university and the program organizers for the opportunity to participate in the educational program 'Technologies of Outbound Tourism'! We visited popular tourist routes and received a lot of positive emotions. We were most impressed by the colorful local streets, the hospitality and friendliness of the local residents, the opportunity to communicate with guides and translators and learn their secrets, the view of the border with North Korea, and the 48-meter statue of the sitting Buddha in Dunhua on Mount Ludishan! The trip exceeded all our expectations!".

      Participation in the educational program "Technologies of Outbound Tourism" allowed students to gain knowledge, skills, and competencies that significantly expand their professional opportunities not only in the field of tourism but also in other areas. The experience gained will allow the students to apply their new knowledge in life and have the opportunity to build a career in the field of international relations.
