       According to the results of 2025, the Republic of Tatarstan secured the fifth position in the list of leading tourist regions of Russia by the number of guests officially accommodated in hotels, hostels, and similar establishments.

       As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, during the reporting period, the number of guests who chose hotels, hostels, and similar accommodations amounted to 2.9 million people, securing the region a place among the top five leaders. According to analysts' estimates, Moscow still occupies the first position in the ranking with a staggering figure of 12.9 million accommodated tourists, followed by Krasnodar Krai, which welcomed 9.3 million guests in the organized sector, then St. Petersburg with 7 million and the Moscow region with 6.4 million tourists. In total, according to the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism, the region welcomed 4.5 million guests last year, which is 200,000 more than the corresponding figure for 2024. The increase in tourist flow specifically in collective accommodation facilities was also quite significant, amounting to exactly 200,000 people. Most often, travelers chose to visit the main tourist attractions of the republic: the Kazan Kremlin museum-reserve, the island-town of Sviyazhsk, as well as the historical cities of Yelabuga and Great Bolgar. The total amount of tourist spending on accommodation, food, transportation services, souvenir purchases, and entertainment reached a colossal sum of 120 billion rubles by the end of the year, which is 30 billion higher than the level of 2024 and indicates an increase in the average check per guest. The launch of the high-speed M12 highway, extended to Yekaterinburg, had a significant impact on transportation logistics and the influx of guests, making the capital of Tatarstan much more accessible for motorists from the eastern regions of the country, as noted by "Tatar-inform." It was previously reported that Kazan entered the top popular destinations for spontaneous travel among Russians.
