       The date for the end of the heating season for 2025-2026 has been officially announced in the capital of Tatarstan – the supply of heat to apartment buildings and administrative buildings in Kazan will be stopped starting from May 7.

       According to the press service of the city administration, the basis for this decision was the sustained exceedance of the average daily outdoor temperature over the normative mark of plus 8 degrees Celsius, which must be recorded for 5 consecutive days. According to Kazan Vedomosti, the city hall clarified that such a weather scenario will be fulfilled by the end of the current week, which allows utility services to begin the planned transition of the heating supply system to summer mode. At the same time, a more flexible schedule for turning off heating is provided for a number of institutions, not strictly tied to the citywide date. Thus, social sphere facilities – hospitals, clinics, kindergartens, schools, and boarding schools – have the right to stop the supply of heat individually, as requests from their managers come in, based on the actual temperature conditions inside the premises. Industrial enterprises and commercial organizations, in turn, are authorized to agree on their own disconnection timelines directly with the heat supply organizations, guided by the terms of the contracts concluded. In addition, residents of apartment buildings also have the right to make a collective decision on an earlier or, conversely, a later cessation of heating, formalized by a protocol of the general meeting of owners. It was previously reported that in Nizhnekamsk, heating is planned to be turned off on May 5, while in neighboring Naberezhnye Chelny, the supply of heat to residential buildings is already being stopped today, May 4. For comparison, last year, in 2025, the heating season in Kazan ended significantly earlier – on April 21. It was previously reported that 1.3 million rubles will be allocated for HIV prevention in Tatarstan.
