President of Russia Vladimir Putin met with the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov. The meeting took place in the Kremlin. During the conversation, the president noted positive macroeconomic trends in Russia. Reshetnikov, in turn, informed the Russian leader that Russia's GDP growth recovered in March, the situation is stabilizing, real incomes of Russians increased by 2.6% in the first quarter, and the Russian economy has performed well despite the imposed sanctions. In addition, inflation as of May 4 was 5.6%, and this figure allows for easing of monetary policy. Furthermore, according to the minister, a recovery in investment growth in Russia is expected from 2027. Other points made by Reshetnikov include: the Russian economy develops cyclically, with a period of adjustment always following a growth period, which is currently being observed, and Russia needs to find a balance in the operation of online platforms.
Earlier it was reported that Putin would not attend the "Kazan Forum," but the Russian leader welcomed the participants of the event with a telegram.
