An official resolution on the protection, promotion, and unacceptability of banning the Russian language and literature will be adopted in Russia following the work of the I St. Petersburg International Philological Forum, stated the head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergey Kravtsov, as reported by RIA Novosti. The I St. Petersburg International Philological Forum "The Russian Language and the Cultural-Educational Sovereignty of Multinational Russia" is taking place at St. Petersburg State University from May 13 to 15. The ministry's press service quoted Kravtsov saying that the main outcome of the forum's work will be the adoption of an official resolution on the protection, promotion, and unacceptability of banning the Russian language and Russian literature. It will be sent to foreign partners. The minister emphasized that Russia openly declares to the whole world: the Russian language has been and remains the language of enlightenment, science, and dialogue. The study and support of the Russian language is an unconditional priority for the development of Russian education, he added.
