He saved people both in peaceful life and on the front lines: the story of a fighter from Almetyevsk.
A native of the Almetyevsk district, Rustam Murzin served for many years in the Ministry of Emergency Situations before participating in the special military operation, and in 2022 he voluntarily went to defend his homeland as part of the "Timer" battalion. For his comrades, friends, and family, he will forever remain a person who always took responsibility first and never turned away from someone else's misfortune. Many people in Almetyevsk knew Rustam Murzin. Colleagues, bidding him farewell, remember him as an open, kind, and reliable person whom one could count on in any situation. He began his career in firefighting as a simple firefighter in the 27th fire station. Gradually, he rose through the ranks, and in 2011 he became the assistant chief of the 11th fire station. "He was a good friend, a very open person, very kind, and very pleasant in every way," said Albert Khamzin, head of the personnel and educational work department of the second squad. When the special military operation began, Rustam Murzin decided to go to the front lines. From the very first days, he served in the volunteer battalion "Timer." Comrades say he had a lot of combat experience, and he always maintained calmness and confidence alongside his comrades. "We entered the special military operation together from the very first days when the volunteer battalion 'Timer' was formed. We saw each other constantly and stayed in touch," recalls SVO veteran Rustam Zaripov. At the front, the soldier also had a special partner – a dog named Bes. This was the call sign Rustam Murzin chose for himself in the special operation zone. The story of friendship with the dog began back in 2022. According to his daughter Kamilla, the father missed his four-legged friend very much and later managed to bring him to serve with him. They spent almost three years together. "Dad said, 'This is a piece of my home,'" the girl recounted. Today, Bes remains with the soldier's family and has become a living reminder of the person they loved and are proud of. Rustam Murzin's children speak especially warmly of him. Kamilla Murzina recalls that her father was always a person of strong character and a huge heart. "He was always a person who took on all the responsibility, always the first in everything. He loved people very much and always helped them. He gave everything he had to his family. He was a hero," she shared. At the memorial meeting, the girl read poems dedicated to her father. They contained lines about courage, strength of spirit, and the ability to always stand up for one's loved ones – qualities that, according to his relatives, Rustam Murzin possessed.
Colleagues and comrades remember: he saved people not only at the front but also in peaceful life when he worked in the Ministry of Emergency Situations. That is why for many residents of Almetyevsk, he will remain a person who dedicated his life to serving others. The material was prepared with the participation of Margarita Tregubenko.
