Television presenter and author of the program "Before and After Midnight" Vladimir Molchanov has died.

      At the age of 75, Russian and Soviet journalist, television presenter, and member of the Academy of Russian Television Vladimir Molchanov passed away. His friend, journalist and writer Yuri Rost, wrote about his death on his Telegram channel. "A talented and intelligent Russian intellectual, a moral journalist, a brilliant television host, an honest writer, and my great friend. The loss is great and irreplaceable," he wrote. In a conversation with TASS, Rost clarified that the cause of Molchanov's death was a prolonged illness. In December, the media reported that the journalist had been hospitalized for the fifth time in a year due to severe abdominal pain. Molchanov was a native of Moscow. In 1973, he graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University with a degree in "Dutch language and literature," after which he worked as an editor, translator, and correspondent for the Novosti Press Agency in the Netherlands. He gained wide recognition in the late 1980s as the author and host of the program "Before and After Midnight," which became one of the symbols of perestroika television. He also hosted the programs "Time," "90 Minutes," and "120 Minutes." In recent years, he worked on author projects about culture, taught journalism, and was a laureate of the TEFI award. In 2025, his star was unveiled in the "Gallery of Stars" at the Ostankino TV Tower.
