When "I" turns into "family": in a new project, a psychologist and KIU students discussed the main issues.

      At Kazan Innovative University, a new project "Personal Space" has started — a series of live conversations with a psychologist on pressing topics that concern students. The first event was dedicated to a theme close to every student: the psychology of family beginnings. Associate Professor of the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy at KIU, Candidate of Psychological Sciences Margarita Filatova-Safronova sincerely shared her professional and personal experiences. Together with the event host Artem Sidorov and the audience, she discussed key questions: how to understand if you are ready for a family, whether it is possible to "educate" a partner, why conflicts and reconciliations without resentment are important, and what trivial household detail can ruin future relationships.

      They also talked about personal space: is it necessary for everything in a family to be shared, or should everyone have their own time and hobbies? The financial question was not overlooked — is it fair to split the budget 50/50 if one earns significantly more, and how to transition from separate expenses to shared ones without conflict.

      The meeting was lively and humorous. Students were not shy about raising their hands, sharing personal experiences, and honestly admitting whether they were ready to start a family.

      The project, organized by the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy in collaboration with the specialist from the External Promotion Department, Maxim Shubin, continues. The next meetings of "Personal Space" also promise to be just as open, useful, and not boring at all. Stay tuned for news from KIU!
