The acting deputy chairman of the Supreme Court of Tatarstan, Eduard Kaminsky, is vying for the position of judge of the Supreme Court of Russia. The Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges (VKKs) of Russia has published the agenda for the meeting, which includes Kaminsky's application for recommendation as a candidate for this position. The VKKs meeting is scheduled for May 26. The vacancy for a judge in the civil chamber of the Supreme Court has been open since February. Currently, Kaminsky has no competitors for this position. The 51-year-old Kaminsky has been working in the judicial system for 23 years. He began his career as an assistant to the city prosecutor of Almetyevsk, worked in investigations, and donned the judicial robe in 2003. He served as a judge of the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan for 8 years, then became the deputy chairman of the Kirov District Court of Kazan. Since January 2013, he has been working in the Supreme Court of Tatarstan. In November 2015, he headed the judicial panel for administrative cases. He was appointed deputy chairman in 2021.
