A course on digital literacy for the older generation has started in Tatarstan.
In the Republic of Tatarstan, training has begun for older adults on the basics of safe internet use. The first session of the new social-educational project took place in Kazan. Participants were informed about the main rules for protection during online shopping and communication on the internet. "Older adults in Tatarstan are actively mastering digital technologies, and our task is to ensure the safest possible conditions for them in the online space. Modern fraudulent schemes are becoming increasingly sophisticated, so it is important that knowledge about cybersecurity is accessible to everyone. Educational projects of this format allow participants not only to receive relevant information about risks but also to learn practically how to protect their data and make safe transactions online. This helps build confidence in using digital services, strengthens trust in new technologies, and aids in integrating into modern society. We will continue to develop and expand such initiatives so that older adults can safely and confidently take advantage of all the opportunities the digital world offers," said Bulat Gabdrakhmanov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of Tatarstan.
During the lesson, experts demonstrated with real examples how to recognize scams, verify the authenticity of information about sellers and advertisements, and make safe purchases online. They specifically discussed how to avoid fake websites created for data theft, how to communicate properly with sellers, and how to protect personal information.
The practical part included an interactive game analyzing real cases and independently setting up account privacy on the participants' devices. The program is being implemented with the support of the national project "Data Economy." The training is organized by the Ministry of Digital Development of Tatarstan and the online platform "Avito."
