      History of the holiday's origin

      The idea of establishing a holiday emerged in the post-war years when the issue of protecting children affected by war became urgent. In 1949, at the congress of the International Democratic Federation of Women in Paris, a decision was made to establish Children's Day. It was first celebrated on June 1, 1950, with festivities taking place in 51 countries around the world. Earlier, in 1924, the League of Nations adopted the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child — the first international document aimed at protecting children. It enshrined the right of children to support, nutrition, medical care, protection from exploitation, and assistance in difficult situations. In 1959, the UN adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, based on the Geneva Declaration. New points were added, including equality of children's rights regardless of nationality, race, gender, and religion. In 1989, based on these documents, the Convention on the Rights of the Child was created — one of the most widely ratified international treaties on human rights.

      Celebration traditions

      In different countries, traditions may vary, but the common goal of the holiday is to draw attention to children's issues and create a joyful atmosphere for young citizens. In Russia, Children's Day often coincides with the beginning of summer vacations. On this day, various events take place across the country: concerts, sports competitions, festivals, workshops, exhibitions, quizzes, and quests. Children participate in theatrical performances, drawing contests, and craft exhibitions. Interactive programs, games, balloons, and sweets are organized in parks and squares. Adults often try to spend more time with children on this day: going to parks, museums, and picnics.

      - a concert and game program (Central Park);

      - "Book Festival" (Central Park);

      - quest "Firsts" (Central Park);

      - Holi color festival and children's disco (Yashlek square);

      - performances by young artists and disco (Yashlek square).

      In 2024, a traffic rules quiz with interactive stations took place in Central Park, and in Yashlek Park, there was an entertainment program "Kaleidoscope of Fun," a Holi color festival, a quest, and a concert by young performers.

      Children's Day in Agryz in 2026

      On June 1, Agryz will immerse itself in the festive atmosphere: several bright events will be dedicated to the arrival of summer and Children's Day. The organizers have prepared a rich program for guests of all ages — from sports competitions to lively dances with a color festival.

      Event schedule:

      Stadium (10:00–12:00): sports and entertainment program for young athletes and active families. Guests can expect exciting quests, creative workshops, and thrilling football competitions.

      RDC Park (starting at 16:00): concert and game program "Childhood." The program includes fun games, lively dances and songs, a literary quiz, a game training session, and a poetic flash mob. Additionally, there will be a notebook decoration workshop.

      Yashlek Square (starting at 18:00): a bright concluding part of the holiday. The program includes:

      - Holi color festival (18:00);

      - street dance workshop (18:30);

      - face painting;

      - giant Twister;

      - disco (19:00).
