A new river route has connected Kazan and Kamskoye Ustye.

      Regular river services were launched today from the river port of Kazan to Kamskoye Ustye. The first trip was made by the high-speed "Meteor 2020" of the second generation. "Today is a significant day – we are opening the operation of the new stop point Kamskoye Ustye on a regular basis. We have already tested the route, received feedback from passengers, and realized that this will be a very popular direction," said Roman Lizalin, the general director of the company "Flot RT," to journalists. He noted that the launch of the route from Kazan to Kamskoye Ustye was planned last year. This year it was made possible thanks to the support of the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. "Daily approaches are planned for our passing vessels. If earlier the vessels went from Kazan to Bolgar and Tetyushi, now they will also call at Kamskoye Ustye because the demand is very high. About 15 years ago, vessels used to go there on a regular basis," Lizalin reported. According to him, an alternative pier in Tenishevo is planned to be used on this route. "Navigational conditions in this area do not always allow approaching the Kamskoye Ustye pier because there is a very large swell, and the wave height is quite serious. Previously, the Tenishevo pier was used for alternative approaches. We are currently working on restoring it," noted the company's CEO. The schedule for the movement of vessels on the Kazan – Kamskoye Ustye route will soon appear on the official website of "Flot RT." In addition, this year a mobile application of the company has been launched, where one can also view the schedule and purchase tickets. Lizalin also mentioned that besides modernizing old vessels, the company intends to purchase new ships. "We are currently restoring another vessel and, if we manage, we will launch it by the end of this navigation. And we will have even more high-speed vessels," he stated. The first passengers in the Kamskoye Ustye area were welcomed by the head of the municipal executive committee, Albert Salimov. "Kamskoye Ustye is the pearl of Tatarstan. It is gratifying that after so many years, navigation has connected Kazan and Kamskoye Ustye. Tourists will come to us by water, admiring our beauties," he noted. Kamskoye Ustye is one of the most picturesque corners of Tatarstan, added Maria Zakhatova, head of the transport department of the Ministry of Transport of Tatarstan. "This is the place where the waters of the Volga and Kama meet. Today, for the first time in a long time, the first trip by water took place. I am sure this will give rise to new bright moments," she said.
