Chess and checkers in Nurlat: results of the tournament for Children's Day
At the City Palace of Culture, competitions were held among school students in grades 1-8 — 32 participants competed for victory in two types of programs. Yesterday, at the City Palace of Culture in the city of Nurlat, chess and checkers competitions were held for students in grades 1–4 and 5–8, dedicated to International Children's Day. The organizer was the Youth and Sports Department of the district executive committee. The tournament was directly conducted by the judging panel: chief judge — Oleg Vasilyevich Pavlov, judges — Djamiliya Minrakhamovna Mingalieva and Galiya Vazykhovna Mukhtasimova. Time control was 10 minutes per participant until the end of the game, and the system used was Swiss, with 5 rounds. The young chess players were the first to take to the boards. 23 students participated in the competition. Results for chess: · Girls, grades 1–4: 1st place — Azaliya Zakirova (school No. 3), 2nd place — Victoria Suchkova (Nurlat Gymnasium), 3rd place — Samira Abdulganieva (Nurlat Gymnasium). · Boys, grades 1–4: 1st place — Grigory Ivanov (school No. 9), 2nd place — Robert Makmutov (school No. 2), 3rd place — Tagir Akhmadiev (Nurlat Gymnasium). · Girls, grades 5–8: 1st place — Samira Aysina (Nurlat Gymnasium), 2nd place — Sofia Aysina (Nurlat Gymnasium), 3rd place — Minsylu Ziganshina (school No. 2). · Boys, grades 5–8: 1st place — Iskander Nurullin (school No. 4), 2nd place — Ilya Abramov (school No. 9), 3rd place — Samir Ganeev (school No. 2). After the chess tournament, the young checkers players started their games. 9 participants played. Results for checkers: · Girls, grades 1–4: 1st place — Isabella Bulanova (school No. 9), 2nd place — Azaliya Zakirova (school No. 3), 3rd place — Karina Sovkova (school No. 9). · Boys, grades 1–4: 1st place — Kirill Sovkov (school No. 9), 2nd place — Artyom Aleksashkin (school No. 2), 3rd place — Kirill Sofronov (school No. 2). · Girls, grades 5–8: 1st place — Minsylu Ziganshina (school No. 2). 2nd and 3rd places were not awarded. · Boys, grades 5–8: 1st place — Igor Bulanov (school No. 4), 2nd place — Zakhar Yelatonsev (school No. 1). 3rd place was not awarded. All winners and prize-winners were awarded honorary certificates and memorable gifts from the Youth and Sports Department. The atmosphere of the competitions was favorable and friendly. The main goals were achieved: promoting a healthy lifestyle, strengthening friendly and sports relations, improving skill levels, identifying the strongest athletes, and popularizing chess and checkers games.
"Today we saw true sports character and a lively interest in intellectual games. The children played with enthusiasm, while respecting the rules and their opponents. Such tournaments not only develop logic and the will to win but also teach how to accept defeats with dignity. I am glad that we managed to gather so many talented kids — both chess players and checkers players," commented Oleg Pavlov, head of the chess and checkers club and chief judge.
