Residents of Tatarstan brought more than 1.2 million coins worth over 7 million rubles to banks during the spring campaign "Coin Week." The nationwide event took place from April 6 to April 18, 2026. During this period, residents of the republic could exchange their accumulated change for banknotes at participating bank branches and some retail stores without a commission. Coins could also be credited to bank accounts.

As noted by the manager of the Branch - National Bank for the Republic of Tatarstan of the Volga-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia, Marat Sharifullin, the campaign helps to return small change to circulation and reduce costs for the production of new coins.
— To return metal money to circulation, it is not necessary to wait for a special occasion. It is enough to use them for everyday purchases, — the branch manager noted.
