Impressive Rector's Ball 2026: an unforgettable evening in honor of the best students

      On June 2, the main celebration for the best students took place — the Rector's Ball of Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov! It was truly an impressive event, full of celebration, recognition, and gratitude for the best students of KIU. The ball opened with a stunning dance: students and university vice-rectors took to the stage led by Rector Asiya Vitalyevna Timiryasova. This performance and the ceremonial opening by the rector set an incredible atmosphere for the celebration! Honorary awards from the Academic Council of KIU were presented to the best students of Kazan and its branches by the university vice-rectors — mentors who always support student initiatives.

      With a welcoming speech and the official opening of the ceremony, Rector Asiya Timiryasova addressed the guests. She shared her experience of interacting with artificial intelligence: when asked "what are KIU students like?" the AI praised them. They are multifaceted and caring, responsible and goal-oriented, managing to do everything and aiming for success. The AI also joked that students know how to pass exams without opening a textbook, using their main innovative resource — a sense of camaraderie and an endless love for coffee.

      Asiya Vitalyevna agreed with the AI's opinion that KIU students, and especially the participants of the Ball, are bright, ambitious, and successful individuals. The rector wished those present in the hall that their virtual life would never become the foundation of their real life, and, most importantly, that their natural intelligence would always surpass artificial intelligence. "Value every minute, maintain your thirst for knowledge and action, and direct your energy towards creation and achieving high goals," the rector inspired the students.

      The honorary right to present the awards from the Academic Council of KIU — the highest symbol of achievement, leadership, and responsibility — was granted to the vice-rectors. They, the people defining the strategy, science, and development of the university, took to the stage to personally appreciate the students' efforts and encourage them. The awards for the best were presented by the first vice-rector, vice-rector for research Igor Bikeyev, vice-rector for innovative project activities Irina Antonova, vice-rector for continuing education Daniya Akhmetova, vice-rector for academic affairs Yulia Kamasheva, vice-rector for economics and strategic development Liliya Vorontsova, vice-rector for corporate governance Timur Kramin, and vice-rector for legal issues Nikolai Babkin. The personal involvement of the vice-rectors, their encouraging words, and support became the main sign for the awardees that the university highly values its best representatives and sees them as its future.

      The best students from the university, college, and branches were ceremoniously invited to the stage to receive their well-deserved awards from the university leadership. The starry hour of our students was accompanied by unique innovative videos that became a true creative highlight of the Ball. The audience saw bright greetings in which great historical figures, whose names have become symbols of their professions, encouraged the students. For example, the great Russian lawyer Fyodor Plevako supported the law faculty students, the founder of scientific management theory Frederick Taylor inspired the management and engineering business faculty, and the faculty of psychology and pedagogy received wise words from the outstanding domestic psychologist Konstantin Ushinsky. College students were guided by the remarkable Soviet educator Anton Makarenko.

      Separate video congratulations were also received by our branches, proving that the university family is united and that talents have no geographical boundaries. Thanks to the university's Media Center for this fantastic video excursion into the past!

      The atmosphere of a true ball is unimaginable without high art. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed beautiful ballroom dances. Students demonstrated grace and majesty in performing classical steps, while the touching joint dance of representatives from the branches became one of the most memorable moments of the evening. Students proved that they are capable not only in studies and science but also in waltz and minuet!

      Creative gifts included performances by the duo "Aura," the KIU vocal studio "Viva," the dance theater "Mixstyle," and the fashion theater "Calypso."

      The concluding and most heartfelt chord of the Ball was the awarding of KIU's special pride — the honor students. Graduates with honors from the university, college, and branches took to the stage. These students proved that high grades are the result of discipline, and true strength lies in the harmony of mind and talent.

      The honor students were awarded by KIU Rector Asiya Timiryasova, and a response on behalf of all students was given by graduate with honors, former chair of the student council Polina Zaitseva. The celebration concluded with a poignant song performed by the vocal studio "Viva" and a traditional invitation for all guests to the buffet hall, where informal communication continued the unforgettable atmosphere of unity and success. KIU is our world, and we write its history together!
