"My dad is a hero": a children's art festival for families of SVO participants has started in Tatarstan.
On June 1, 2026, on Children's Day, the festival "My Dad is a Hero" was launched in Tatarstan. The initiator of the project in the republic was State Duma deputy Ilya Wolfson. The festival continues the idea that was implemented in 2025 in the Moscow region by the Association of Veterans of the Special Military Operation of the Moscow region with the support of Governor Andrey Vorobyov and State Duma deputy Sergey Kolunov. The main participants are children of SVO participants aged 7 to 17. For them, master classes are held in cultural centers, youth centers, and children's camps in Tatarstan, where, under the guidance of professional artists, the children draw portraits of their fathers. The best works will be included in the final exhibition, which will open in September at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan. As Ilya Wolfson noted: "In this festival, we tried to combine several meanings: the education of patriotism, respect for the feat of our fighters, and attention to their families. I believe that such artistic reflection will help children strengthen the connection between generations and preserve family memory. By launching this project in Tatarstan, we aimed to create a space where every child can express pride in their father-protector, and the drawings will become part of our common history of Victory, courage, and love for the Motherland."
