According to the hospital's press service, in the summer of 2022, 34-year-old Rauf was working on the roof of his house. At some point, he lost his balance on the ladder, fell onto the profiled sheets, and cut his hand. He arrived at RKB in critical condition – due to ruptured arteries, he lost more than two liters of blood. The surgeons immediately took the patient for surgery. It turned out that only the bone remained in the hand. First, the doctors stitched the torn brachial artery, after which they restored the median nerve using the man's own tissues. Blood transfusions were conducted simultaneously. Thanks to the doctors' efforts, the hand was saved, and then the attending physician Ruslan Radykov referred the patient to the R.R. Vreden National Medical Research Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics in St. Petersburg, where he underwent a muscle transplant from the shin to restore the biceps. Later, back at RKB, the man's wrist and forearm bones were connected, and muscle-tendon plastic surgery was performed to restore finger function. Eventually, Rauf was able to return to work. He is very grateful to the doctors at RKB for doing everything they could to help him live and work as he did before.
