At the end of that year, a fire broke out in the market area. At that time, the fire destroyed more than 11,600 square meters of trading and storage premises, a total of 96 trading points. The business of the tenants was affected, and some of them had to move to new locations. Some pavilions were restored over time, while the containers where some entrepreneurs were previously located were dismantled. A repeated inspection by the prosecutor's office showed that only three out of 28 violations had been eliminated. Among them are those that pose a threat to the life and health of the population. In addition, 17 new violations were discovered. For example, the supervisory authority found that food was being prepared over an open flame on grills and barbecues directly in the premises, paint and solvents (flammable goods) were being poured in unprepared premises at the market, and trading halls were adjacent to warehouses storing kerosene and other flammable liquids.

      The market owner's lawyers stated in court that they had eliminated the violations and insisted on conducting an independent examination.
