A grant competition for media projects aimed at preserving languages has started in Tatarstan.
In Tatarstan, the annual grant competition for media projects aimed at preserving and developing the languages of the republic has started: authors of initiatives in the field of online media and social networks can receive funding of up to 450,000 rubles. Applications are accepted until August 14, 2026, in three nominations — for the support of internet resources, online events, and SMM projects that promote native languages. The Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications "Tatmedia," has launched the annual grant competition. Its goal is to support media projects that help preserve and develop the state languages of Tatarstan and the languages of the peoples of the republic.
Who can participate?
Authors of media projects that highlight issues of linguistic diversity and cultural heritage of the region in the media and online are invited to participate.
Competition nominations
In 2026, applications are accepted in three nominations:
- "Best Media Resource Project for the Internet" — for online platforms dedicated to the languages of Tatarstan.
- "Best Internet Event Project in Support of the Native Language" — for initiatives that draw the audience's attention to the topic of language preservation through online events.
- "Best Social Media Project Promoting and/or Preserving the Native Language" — for SMM projects that promote linguistic heritage on social networks.
What will the winners receive?
Authors of the best works in each nomination will receive grants for the implementation or development of their projects. The total amount of grant support this year is 450,000 rubles.

The application period is open from June 8 until 18:00 on August 14, 2026.
