Over the weekend, several gas-related emergencies occurred in Tatarstan. According to the press service of the State Housing Inspection of the Republic of Tatarstan, early on Sunday morning, two children, a 41-year-old woman, and a 47-year-old man from Nurlat were affected by gas poisoning. Upon inspecting the ventilation, it was found that there was draft in the chimney, but a pigeon was discovered in the flue pipe of the gas heater. The children have been hospitalized.
Two days earlier, a resident of Chistopol was also hospitalized due to gas poisoning. It was reported that he approached the stove, turned on the gas, but at that moment he suffered a heart attack and did not manage to ignite the burner.
Additionally, over the weekend, five cases of gas leaks were recorded. Two of them occurred in Kazan and three in the Vysokogorsky district.
Currently, the State Housing Inspection is conducting an investigation, with special attention being paid to the case in Nurlat. Gas supply to the houses with leaks has been stopped.
