The winners and prizewinners of the University Sports Spartakiad and student sports leagues were awarded at the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      The Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan held a solemn ceremony to award the winners and prize-winners of the Spartakiad of educational organizations of higher education for the 2025/2026 academic year, as well as the competitions of the Student Sports Leagues in basketball, volleyball, handball, rugby-7, football, and ice hockey. The event was attended by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, the First Deputy Minister Khalil Shaikhutdinov, the Chairman of the FSО "Burevestnik" Emir Kharisov, and the Rector of the Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Rafis Burganov. A total of 7,483 students from 22 universities of the republic participated in the Spartakiad for the 2025/2026 academic year. Educational organizations were divided into three groups depending on the number of students. Competitions were held throughout the academic year – from September to May. "In sports, it is important not only to achieve results but also to maintain leadership positions. We have been working for a long time on the student Spartakiad and the sports league. Working with educational institutions has always been a priority task for us," noted Vladimir Leonov. As a result of the competitions, the winners and prize-winners in each group received certificates for the purchase of sports equipment and gear from the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan for a total amount of over 6 million rubles. The results of the Spartakiad were distributed as follows. In the first group, the absolute winner was recognized as the Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism. The first place was taken by Kazan (Volga) Federal University, second place by Kazan State Architectural and Building University, and third place by Kazan National Research Technological University. In the second group, the leader was Kazan State Agrarian University. The second place was taken by Kazan Law University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, and third place by Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov. In the third group, the first place was awarded to Kazan State Institute of Culture. In second position was the TISBI Management University, and in third place was the Kazan Higher Tank Command School named after Zhukov.
