       According to Tatarstanstat's calculations, from January to April 2026, the volume of industrial production in the republic increased by 6.8% compared to the same period last year.

      

       As calculated by Tatarstanstat, industrial activity in the month of April alone soared by 11.5% year-on-year; however, compared to March of this year, there was a predictable seasonal decline of 9.1%. In terms of sectors, over the four months, the energy sector demonstrated the most impressive dynamics, increasing by 9.8%, while manufacturing as a whole grew by 8%, and mining showed a growth of 3.7%. At the same time, industries related to water supply, wastewater disposal, and waste management recorded a decrease in volumes of 3.7%. Statistics for the first four months also recorded significant contrasts across individual sectors. Leading the growth was the production of other finished goods, which soared by 12.5%, as well as the production of electrical equipment, which grew by 6.6%. At the same time, a number of sectors in the republican economy fell by more than 10% year-on-year. The largest decline was recorded in leather production, which collapsed by 30.8%, the production of rubber and plastic products fell by 27.6%, and the production of other non-metallic mineral products decreased by 17.8%. In the month of April alone, the situation in many failing sectors continued to worsen: the decline in leather production accelerated from 11.6% in March to 40.7%, while the production of pharmaceuticals and medical materials plummeted by 31.1% after a moderate decline in March. Only metallurgy showed a reverse trend, growing by 8.5% in April compared to the decline in March. It was previously reported that Tatarstan became a leader in cheese production among all regions of the Russian Federation.
