Doctors from Tatarstan have cured a child of leukemia using innovative drugs. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan. A 9-year-old boy was suffering from acute promyelocytic leukemia. The disease caused complications – intracranial hemorrhage and edema, as well as intestinal thrombosis and peritonitis. Despite the critical condition, the doctors did not give up on trying to save the child's life. Standard chemotherapy was impossible, so the doctors used innovative drugs that had not been previously used in Russia. Just a month later, the young patient entered remission. In 2025, surgeries to restore the skull were completed, and in 2026, the intestines were restored. Today, the boy is completely healthy – he studies, plays football, and skates. "The professionalism of doctors, innovations, and family support can overcome even the most complex diagnoses," the Ministry of Health notes.
