The day before, a Kazan lawyer, Eduard Minnigaliyev, was detained in Zelenodolsk. A case has been initiated against him for mediating a large bribe. As "Real Time" found out, it concerns a sum of 550 thousand rubles and events from 2023. A criminal case of corruption has been opened in the Zelenodolsk department of the Investigative Committee. The press service of the agency has not commented on it yet.
As sources from "Real Time" note, the essence of the claims against the professional defender casts a shadow on certain officials of the Zelenodolsk police, namely, employees of the Economic Security Department. It is they who the lawyer allegedly handed 550 thousand rubles to in December 2023 so that his client would not be held criminally liable. At the same time, it is still unknown whether anyone from the police has been detained in this case.
It is expected that today the Zelenodolsk court will consider the petition for a measure of restraint for the detained lawyer.
