Vladimir Putin will participate in the Russia-ASEAN summit in Kazan
As reported by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, next week Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to participate in the Russia-ASEAN summit, as well as several dozen meetings as part of the event. The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, will arrive in the capital of Tatarstan next week for his personal participation in the anniversary Russia-ASEAN summit, where he is expected to have a busy schedule of bilateral contacts. As Peskov informed journalists on Wednesday, Putin's visit to Kazan is planned for June 17-19, and the upcoming days will be a real negotiation marathon for the president, during which a large number of bilateral meetings with leaders of Southeast Asian countries will take place. As part of the planned event, it is expected that heads of states and governments will summarize years of cooperation and discuss ways to expand interaction in political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. According to updated data from the Kazan city administration, about four thousand official summit participants will arrive, and they will be accommodated in thirty hotels in the city, while preparations for the event are concluding with the improvement of key urban spaces. Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke about the main topics of the upcoming Russia-ASEAN summit in Kazan. It should be noted that ASEAN is an organization uniting ten countries in the region: Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines. The decree to hold the summit in Kazan was signed by Vladimir Putin back in April of this year, and the high-level meeting is timed to the thirty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Association.
