In many countries, national flags are lowered on this day to honor the memory of the fallen. June 22nd is one of the most tragic dates in Russian history. It is the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, marking the beginning of the bloodiest war.

      In honor of the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, an exhibition-memorial titled "The Book about War. The Book in War" opened at the District Children's Library. It features books that tell about key events and major battles of the Great Patriotic War. These works were written by participants and eyewitnesses of those tragic events.
