According to him, this is a systemic problem that needs to be addressed urgently.
Veterans of the Special Military Operation
Within the same board meeting, Putin specifically addressed veterans of combat operations, including participants in the special military operation. He urged them to actively join the ranks of the internal affairs agencies. They have combat experience, psychological and physical resilience, which will significantly strengthen the service.
The topic of salary increases comes against the backdrop of recent changes in the payment system for military personnel and volunteers. Previously, the president had already signed decisions to increase the authorized strength of the Armed Forces to 2.39 million people. This sets a general direction for improving the financial situation of all law enforcement agencies.
When to expect the increase
New decisions regarding the Ministry of Internal Affairs should form the basis of the federal budget for 2027–2028. Relevant amendments are already in progress. It is expected that the government will soon adopt a resolution that will formalize the updated salaries in the documents of the subordinate ministries. Against the backdrop of a severe shortage of personnel in uniform and a decline in the prestige of the service, lawmakers unanimously supported the further extension of annual indexing.
