On your marks, get set, GTO! The standards of the GTO complex were fulfilled at KIU.

      Today, for the first time at Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov, the standards of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" (GTO) were fulfilled. Participants in the sports event included university teachers and staff, who tested their physical fitness and demonstrated their commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Throughout the day, participants underwent tests corresponding to their age categories within the GTO complex. The program included shuttle running, standing long jump, forward bend from a standing position on a gym bench (flexibility test), torso lifts from a lying position on the back, and push-ups. Each test allowed for the assessment of various physical qualities of the participants: speed, strength, endurance, coordination, and flexibility. The event brought together representatives from different generations of the university community. Students, teachers, and staff enthusiastically completed the standards, supported each other, and created an atmosphere of a true sports celebration. For many participants, this was their first experience of passing the GTO tests, while for some, it was an opportunity to confirm their existing sports achievements. The implementation of the GTO complex at the university marked another step in the development of the sports culture at KIU. The university pays great attention to promoting physical activity, developing mass sports, and creating conditions for sports to become an integral part of the life of every student and staff member. The first holding of the GTO festival within the university walls was an important event and laid the foundation for a new sports tradition that unites students and staff, inspiring them for new victories and achievements.
