      Residents of Kazan are buying up leak detectors and protection relays en masse ahead of the vacation season. The demand for housing security devices has risen by 12 percent.

      In anticipation of the summer vacation season, residents of Kazan have begun actively preparing their apartments for long absences, leading to a noticeable increase in sales of devices for monitoring and protecting homes. As reported by Real Time, citing data from a relevant study, in April-May 2026, sales of such products in the capital of Tatarstan increased by 12 percent compared to the same period last year. Overall, the dynamics across Russia were even more impressive: in certain categories, sales growth reached 36 percent. Analysts attribute this trend to the mass preparation of citizens for the vacation season and the desire to minimize the risks of household accidents, fires, and flooding during long absences of homeowners. According to the study's results, the highest demand in the country was for monitoring and protection devices, including automatic switches, protective disconnection devices, and uninterruptible power supplies, with Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Perm, and Moscow leading in growth rates. Additionally, across Russia, sales of protective disconnection devices soared by one and a half times, and there was a significant increase in demand for equipment to protect against surge voltages, as well as for sensors, valves, and water leak protection systems capable of preventing catastrophic consequences. It was previously reported that the Republic of Tatarstan has confidently established itself among the leaders among Russian regions in the volume of preferential mortgage loans provided to IT specialists, showing explosive growth in the first quarter of 2026.
