KIU has entered the TOP ranking for training specialists in the field of AI in Russia.

      Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov has improved its position in the country's first ranking of universities for the quality of training specialists in the field of artificial intelligence. As of the end of 2026, KIU received a D++ category, moving up one step compared to last year. A special achievement of the university is second place among all private universities represented in the ranking. The ranking methodology is officially approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and its development is handled by the "Alliance in the Field of Artificial Intelligence" by direct order of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of the country. The ranking serves as a crucial indicator for the labor market: it is based on the benchmarks used by the largest technology companies in the country (Sber, Yandex, Gazprom Neft) when hiring graduates, and the government assesses the quality of education in the field of AI technologies. The scale of the research is impressive: this year, the ranking included 193 universities from 58 regions of Russia (including Lomonosov Moscow State University, Higher School of Economics, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, ITMO University, among others). Six universities from Tatarstan were represented in the ranking. To be included in the ranking and receive a high category, universities underwent a comprehensive assessment based on four blocks of criteria: demand for graduates in hiring, relevance of the training process in the field of AI, educational environment, and activity in developing school education. The analytical base of the ranking was built on data about universities from open sources and the results of independent studies by the Alliance in the Field of Artificial Intelligence. In particular, this includes surveys of more than 150 employers about the demand for graduates and over 12,000 students about the quality of the educational environment. The greatest contribution to the university's final assessment comes from the block "Demand for Graduates in Hiring." KIU not only maintains its status as one of the key centers for training specialists in the field of digitalization in Russia and Tatarstan but also demonstrates stable growth, step by step increasing its category.
