NGOs of Tatarstan have been invited to compete for Raisa RT grants for environmental projects.
Non-profit organizations in Tatarstan implementing environmental projects have been invited to participate in the competition for grants from the President of Tatarstan for the development of civil society. The environmental theme is represented within this framework by the direction "Environmental protection and animal welfare," said Ilnur Nasretdinov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan, at a press conference at Tatar-inform today. "Grant support is one of the most effective measures. We are looking forward to the start of the competition. We invite those interested to consultations," emphasized the speaker. The competition starts on July 1. Projects in the environmental direction are accepted in several thematic blocks: 1) biodiversity conservation (protection of rare and endangered species, study and restoration of ecosystems, support for specially protected natural areas); 2) waste management (implementation of separate collection, development of recycling infrastructure, cleaning of territories); 3) water resource protection (cleaning of water bodies, monitoring of water quality, protection of coastal areas, restoration of river ecosystems); 4) reducing negative environmental impact (implementation of "green" and energy-saving technologies, reduction of emissions, development of eco-friendly transport); 5) environmental education and the formation of ecological culture (lectures, quests, festivals, school and student clubs, research work, creation of educational materials); 6) animal protection (prevention of cruelty, assistance to homeless animals, creation of shelters, educational campaigns); 7) solving local environmental problems (elimination of illegal dumps, greening of public spaces, reduction of noise pollution, and other initiatives aimed at improving the environmental situation in a specific locality or area). The winners of the previous competition in the environmental direction were two projects that received more than 3 million rubles. These are the environmental education project "Green Code of Tatarstan" of the "It Will Be Clean" movement and the project "We Are Responsible" of the charitable foundation "House of Hope" from Nizhnekamsk, aimed at reducing the number of homeless animals.
