In Tatarstan, a dangerous pesticide has been detected in 4,500 tons of feed wheat, posing a threat to human health and being dangerous for bees.
Specialists from the Tatarstan branch of the Federal Center for Safety and Quality Assessment of Agricultural Products recorded a serious violation of safety regulations during routine monitoring, this time in large batches of feed grain. According to the head of the testing laboratory of the branch, Ildar Yakupov, the tested samples of wheat from the 2025 harvest, taken from the Chistopol and Alekseevsky districts of the republic from two batches totaling 4,500 tons, showed an exceedance of the maximum allowable level of the pesticide pyrimiphos-methyl. According to specialists, the concentration of the dangerous substance ranged from 218 to 247 milligrams per kilogram, which is more than twice the threshold established by technical regulations of 0.1 milligrams. This exceedance directly indicates a gross violation of grain processing rules during its long-term storage at elevators and terminals. This substance poses a serious threat not only to humans, causing nausea and cramps, but also to the environment, being deadly to fish and bees. Information about the violations has already been entered into the "Vesta" information system and forwarded to the Rosselkhoznadzor. The report states that this is not the first case this year: earlier similar exceedances were found in batches of lentils, buckwheat, and barley totaling 684 tons. A few days ago, it was reported that Tatarstan will allocate 93 billion rubles for road repairs and construction in 2026. This year's funding will be increased by 11 billion.
